World’s Fastest Car

The Koenigsegg Jesko, a high-performance hypercar named after Christian von Koenigsegg’s father, was unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in 2019. Its creation was a culmination of years of engineering expertise, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of automotive excellence.

Christian von Koenigsegg, the founder and CEO of Koenigsegg Automotive AB, has always been known for pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering. His vision was to create a car that would surpass the already formidable Koenigsegg Agera RS in terms of speed and performance.

The Jesko was inspired by Christian’s father, Jesko von Koenigsegg, who played a pivotal role in shaping Christian’s passion for automobiles. Jesko’s commitment to innovation and engineering left a lasting impact on his son, and the car was named as a tribute to his influence.

A significant engineering feat in the Jesko is the Light Speed Transmission (LST), a nine-speed multi-clutch unit developed in-house by Koenigsegg. It allows for lightning-fast gear changes, essential for maximizing the car’s performance. The Jesko boasts an aerodynamic design that incorporates active features, such as the massive rear wing, the most substantial single wing ever fitted to a Koenigsegg, and a front splitter. These elements provide the necessary downforce for high-speed stability and cornering performance.

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a testament to Christian von Koenigsegg’s relentless pursuit of performance, innovation, and automotive excellence. It builds on the company’s legacy of producing some of the world’s fastest and most advanced hypercars, continuing to set new standards in the industry.
